Most of the black and white photos on these pages date from some years ago and were taken with an Olympus OM1 camera using 24mm, 50mm and 75-150mm Olympus lenses. I still like the little OM1, particularly its lack of automatics.

The shots on the 'stormy weather' pages, however, were taken with a Praktica. It was equipped with a 105mm Pentax lens. I sold the camera to a friend who used it for several years before it finally expired - hopefully not from salt corrosion! Even then it found a new home in the BBC's sound effects library. So if you've ever heard the clunk of a camera shutter in a radio play it may have been my old Praktica!

The more recent colour photos were taken with an Olympus digital camera - a C2000 Z. This does much service recording dozens of roses and views of water for possible paintings, but I do still sometimes take a picture without any thought that it might one day contribute to a painting!
